Counselling

The Counselling Programme provided by Path of Hope is built on a foundation of compassion, empathy and true belief that the cycle of family violence can be broken by empowering its victims.

Escaping an abusive home environment is only the first step in breaking the cycle of abuse. For many recovery can be a long and painful path which is facilitated through our various counselling services.

Our Path of Hope appointed manager works closely with heads of Counselling departments within a selection of Universities in Western Australia. Each year, a carefully selected, handful of students finalising their Master degrees in Counselling get invited to do their clinical placement at our centre.

This group of Bachelor/Master students are screened and interviewed to assure suitability and compatibility with our mission, vision and core beliefs in empowering women and enabling them to create new and positive pathways. The counselling provided, empowers, aids and enables the women at the centre to find a path away from physical, sexual and/or psychological abuse, forced social isolation and economic deprivation. Along, this very difficult journey, they have alongside of them one of our counsellor to empower them to create a brighter future for themselves and their children. The Counselling programme has been in place since 2014. It is continuously expanding and proven to be a great success for all parties involved.
