Trauma Training & Awareness | HOPE Internship Program w. Catherine Broughton
INTERNSHIP TRAINING & MENTORING SESSION
By invitation and subject to space availabilityTrauma training and awareness equip individuals and organisations with the knowledge and tools to recognise, understand, and respond appropriately to the impact of trauma. This approach is rooted in empathy, safety, and respect, acknowledging the widespread effects trauma can have on individuals’ physical, emotional, and psychological wellbeing.
Through trauma-informed training, professionals develop skills to create safe, supportive environments that minimise re-traumatisation, promote healing, and foster resilience. This training is an essential tool across all sectors, helping to foster more effective, compassionate, and inclusive engagement through a deeper understanding of trauma responses.
Building trauma awareness enhances workplace culture by fostering emotional intelligence, supporting staff wellbeing, and strengthening team cohesion. Trauma-informed practice empowers organisations to engage more effectively and compassionately by shifting the question from ‘What’s wrong with you?’ to ‘What happened to you?’— laying the foundation for dignity, understanding, and long-term positive impact.
